Sylvia W. Slater's Obituary
Sylvia Woodman Slater, 95, of Fayetteville, NY, passed away on Friday, August 5. She was born on October 10, 1920 in Nashua, NH, the daughter of the late Rodney C. Woodman Sr. and Mildred (Kimball) Woodman. She graduated from Milford H.S., class of 1938, and earned her associates degree from Colby Jr. College in 1940. She was married to Douglas Slater for 56 years. They lived much of their lives in Camillus, NY where they were longtime members of Tuscarora Golf Club. Sylvia was a 50 year member of Puritan Charity Themis Atlantic Chapter #29, Order of the Eastern Star. Her grandsons will especially miss her delicious apple pies.
She was predeceased by her husband, as well as her brother Rodney Jr., twin sister Lucille, and son David. Surviving family members include daughter-in-law, Sharon, two grandsons, Robert and Michael, two great grandsons, Henry and Edward, sisters-in-law Audrey and Jan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be held this week by the family.
