Teresa (Iovine) Leader's Obituary
Teresa (Iovine) Leader, 91, of Mattydale, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on October 11, 2022. She will be remembered with love by her family and friends.
Teresa was born in Auburn, NY on February 16, 1931, to the late Joseph and Grace (Dagnesi) Iovine. She spent many years as a real estate agent for Century 21, before establishing, with her late husband Edward, the long-lasting family business, Leader’s Fence. The company has been in business for over 50 dedicated years and is still being run by her children. Terry enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, golfing, cooking for her family, and wintering in Florida. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Teresa’s family would like to send a special thanks to: Roxy, Lisa, and Bonnie for their loving care and help with Teresa, and also to Hospice of CNY.
In addition to her parents, Terry is predeceased by her beloved husband Edward, and her daughter, Donna Halligan.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Marian) Leader, Scott (Debbie) Leader, and Joe Lotito; her daughter, Colene (Robert) Lamb; her grandchildren, Kelly (Robert) Wiegand, Stacy (Jeff) Crosby, Nathaniel (Danielle) Leader, Miranda (Alex) Jones, Amanda, Christa, and Samantha (Nicholas Sherwood) Leader; 8 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 10:00AM to 11:30AM at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Teresa’s life at Noon on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in North Syracuse Cemetery.
