Thelma (Antzak) Rose's Obituary
Thelma (Antzak) Rose, 95, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025 after a short illness. She was born in Syracuse to the late Charles and Stella (Stahnick) Antzak and grew up on the north side of Syracuse. Thelma attended St. John the Baptist, where she met the love of her life, Frank.
Thelma and her husband Frank lovingly built their Adirondack summer home by hand, creating a cherished retreat where they made countless memories with family. Earlier in life, when their family was young, they also crafted a dream home together, a testament to their shared vision and dedication.
Thelma’s passion for cooking brought joy to those she loved, her meals a heartfelt expression of care. She cherished her family deeply. She adored the family’s many dogs, delighting in their playful visits and laughing at their antics. Later in life, Thelma found joy in country dancing, embracing the lively steps and community spirit."
She lived with unwavering grace, quiet courage, and a fierce love for her family. Her devotion to caring for others leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness that will live on in all of us.
She taught us strength through softness, courage through quiet, and love without condition. We are who we are because of her.
She was, and always will be, the heart of our family.
In addition to her parents, Thelma is predeceased by her husband, Frank Rose and her brother, Charles (Joan) Antzak.
She is lovingly remembered by her four children, Frank (Susan) Rose of Rochester, NY, Michael (Kathleen) Rose of Phoenix, AZ, Susan (Richard) Cummings, and Mary Rose; she was the proud grandmother of six, Jason Rose, Brian Rose, Courtney Rose Hodges, Kaitlin Perez, Kelly Regan, and Richard Cummings; her legacy continues through her ten great-grandchildren, Maddie and Mia Rose, Avery and James Regan, Paul, Finn, and Hannah Hodges, Nora and Simon Perez, and Waverly Cummings; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. (noon) immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Thelma’s life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. Burial will follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
