Theodora "Dora" (Kosmetatos) Tsikalakis' Obituary
Theodora “Dora” Tsikalakis, 76, of Liverpool, passed away after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. She was born in Vlahata Kefalonia, Greece to Gabriel and Efthalia Kosmetatos.
Dora retired as a seamstress from Learbury Clothes after more than 30 years. She was a member of St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church. Her favorite activity was to spend time with her granddaughters; her daughters and granddaughters were her proudest achievements. Dora’s big, warm smile lit up a room and her infectious laugh brightened everyone’s day.
She is predeceased by her siblings, Melpomeni Pashous, Dimitri Kosmetatos, & John Kosmetatos.
Dora is survived by her husband, George Tsikalakis; two daughters, Mary T. Bistrovich of Rochester & Emanouela Canzano (Frank) of Syracuse; four granddaughters, Amelia & Ava Bistrovich and Isabella & Francesca Canzano; siblings, Katina Kosmetatos of Liverpool & Margoleni Kouroukli of Kefalonia, Greece, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren & close friends.
Thank you to the nurses and doctors at St. Joseph’s Hospital D-wing, and to her loving caregivers, especially Bethany Redmond, for their compassion and care during her last days.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 9:30 – 10:30 am at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 am at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.
