Theodore "Ted" Barbuto's Obituary
Theodore “Ted” Barbuto, 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Satriano, Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy, son of the late Antonio and Concetta (Chiaravalloti) Barbuto. Ted was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was the NYS Past Department Commander of the Disabled American Veterans. Ted was a life member of both D.A.V. Chapter 88 and VFW Sgt. Edward R. Miller Post 7336 in Glendale, NY. He volunteered for many years at the Syracuse VAMC. He enjoyed playing the drums, taking family trips to Disney World, fishing and swimming at the family cottage in Westport, ON, Canada, and most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Deborah (Hendricks) Barbuto; his sons, KC, Tony and Teddy Barbuto; grandsons, Riley and Jordan; sisters, Cathy (Ronald) Klein and Barb Magari; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, and at 10 a.m. in Liverpool First United Methodist Church, 604 Oswego St., Liverpool, NY. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Monday, July 15, 2019 from 4 to 7 pm. at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ted’s memory may be made to the Syracuse VAMC VAVS or Syracuse Turners.
