Theresa E. (Arena) Piraino's Obituary
Theresa E. (Arena) Piraino, 88, of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Community General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifetime resident of Syracuse and the youngest of 14 children. Theresa possessed an extraordinary love and devotion to her family and beloved pets. She loved all animals and felt most at peace with her dog at her side. Theresa loved taking care of her family and home, sewing, cooking, baking, and crafting gave her the greatest joy.
She was predeceased by her parents, 13 siblings and her son-in-law, Fred W. Zink, Jr.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Sam J. Piraino; her son, Samuel J. Piraino; her daughter, Diane E. Zink; her granddaughter, Jennifer A. (Michael) Griffith; 5 great-grandchildren, Iris Pellegata, Moira, Gannon, Quinn and Tegan Griffith; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass in celebration of Theresa’s life at 11:30 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Dewitt.
