Theresa R. (Valerio) Correia's Obituary
Theresa R. Correia, 87, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Solvay, NY daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa (Barnell) Valerio. Theresa enjoyed visiting Sainte Anne’s shrine in Canada. She also enjoyed picnics, crocheting, playing bingo and shopping with her close friends, Lucy and Audrey.
She was predeceased by her sons, Michael Correia and Joseph Correia.
Theresa is survived by her husband of 65 years, Horace R. Correia; four sons, Richard (Marilyn), Anthony (Mindy), Peter (Robie), and Phillip Correia; five daughters, Theresa (William) Raite, Donna (Michael) Schapley, Susan (Stanley) Kot, Mary (David) Swedowski, and Kathy Correia; two sisters, Marge (Ralph) Sims, and Marie Valerio; one brother, Anthony Valerio; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Theresa’s life at 12:10 PM in St. Daniel’s Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
