Thomas G. "Peanut" Calcagino's Obituary
Thomas G. “Peanut” Calcagino, 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Friday, February 10, 2017. He was born on May 11, 1928 in Syracuse and is the son of the late Michael and Laura (DiBello) Calcagino. Thomas served a term in the U.S. Navy and did a tour in Guam when American Forces recaptured the island after WWll in 1944 and was honorably discharged. He worked as a building maintenance supervisor until retirement for Carrier Corporation, now known as United Technologies Corporation.
He is predeceased by his twin sister, Mary Amato, and sister, Theresa F. Pacelli; three brothers, Nicholas, Steven, and Anthony Calcagino.
Thomas is survived by two sisters, Cecelia Miceli and Anna Tardone; his brother, Cosimo Calcagino; many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Thomas’ life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
