Thomas M. Carroll, Sr.'s Obituary
Thomas M. Carroll, Sr., 90, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 26, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born in Syracuse, NY, son of the late Raymond Carroll and Dorothy Shaw. Thomas served with the U.S. Navy and worked as an Electrician with IBEW Local Union 1249, retiring after many dedicated years. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed horse racing and betting on the horses.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Sylvia J. Carroll in 2025, and siblings, Richard, Kathleen and Maureen.
Thomas is survived by his children, Julie Carroll Montgomery, Thomas M. Carroll, Jr. (Judy) and John J. Carroll (Gina); three grandchildren, Nicole (Gary) Smith, Patrick (Kelly) Trivison and Kevin Carroll; five great-grandchildren, Alex, Kaleigh, Greg, Ariella and Michael; two great-great-grandchildren, Xander and Anthony, along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service in celebration of Thomas’ life will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 10:00 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of CNY and of the Finger Lakes, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
