Don and I found out today, 3/23/2020, by reading the Southern Illinois alumni magazine that Tom left this world in December. Tom was my husband’s first doctoral student and we loved Tom! Rest in peace, precious friend! Shirley and Don Beggs
I sublet an office from Tom for over 20 years. He was always kind and generous with me. My deepest condolences to his family. He gave so much to the Central New York community. I'm really sorry to hear of his death.
Our hearts are very heavy today upon hearing of Tom's passing. We were blessed to see him just last week, having some great conversations as we always do. What a remarkable individual he was; he was a wealth of walking information, always witty and humorous. Life will be a lot sadder as he will be dearly, dearly missed. They say the good ones all go too soon and that sure proves true here. To Toms children, immediate family and his beloved friends our hearts go out to you today and always, he will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
