Thomas M. Leo's Obituary
Thomas M. Leo, 55, of Cicero, passed away Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Sam and Ann "Dolly" (Bisesi) Leo. Tom was a graduate of St. John the Baptist High School and later received his bachelors degree at St. Bonaventure University. He began writing for The Herald Journal in 1984 and continued on with The Post Standard throughout his life. Tom was an official scorer with the Syracuse Chiefs. He coached Cicero Little League for many years as well as North Syracuse Babe Ruth where he served on the Board of Directors. Tom also was a coach and athletic director for Sacred Heart CYO Basketball. He was an avid Beach Boys lover and a fan of the Detroit Tigers and Green Bay Packers.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Diana (Graham) Leo; his three children, AnnMarie (Joseph) O'Neil of Clay, Sam Leo of Cicero and Brian Leo of Cicero; a granddaughter, Elena O'Neil and a future grandson expected any day; two brothers, Dominick (Joanne) Leo of Syracuse and Sam Leo of Syracuse along with many nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
