Thomas J. Mirizio's Obituary
Thomas J. Mirizio, 61, of Clay, NY, passed away Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital after his 6 year battle with Multiple Myeloma surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of Liverpool High School. Tom was employed in the customer service department at US Air for over 20 years before working as a manager for Northside Collision. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, writing music, and riding his tractor. Tom considered himself to be an ordinary, average guy who was always willing to listen and was equally willing to share his positive perceptions of whatever he discussed. Tom was loved by all that new him and prided himself on being goofy. He fulfilled his bucket list over the past few years and traveled to many destinations, including Jamaica, Hawaii, and especially Italy, where he connected with his extended family. Tom loved Jesus and was at peace when he passed.
He was predeceased by his father, Conrad Mirizio in February, 2016.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Mona (Freeman) Mirizio; his mother, Edna (Coleman) Mirizio; two sisters, Diane (Mike) Egan of Pittsford, NY and Carol (Scott) Bitz of Cicero; three brothers, Dan (Robyn) Mirizio of Brewerton, Leonard (Michelle) Mirizio of Liverpool and Ronald Mirizio of N. Syracuse, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special thanks to the entire staff on the 3rd floor, Oncology Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital as well as the HOA staff.
