Thomas J. Simmons Jr.'s Obituary
Thomas J. Simmons, Jr., 56, of Bernhards Bay, passed away peacefully at home on November 15, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Thomas was born in Auburn, NY and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He later went on to become a facilities maintenance supervisor for Lockheed Martin in Liverpool. Thomas loved to hunt, fish, garden, and most of all, spend time with his family, friends, and faithful golden retrievers.
Thomas was predeceased by his father, Thomas J. Simmons, Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne E. (Barnum) Simmons; his 2 sons, Alex J. Simmons, and Jack T. Simmons (Brittany Parody); granddaughter, Clara Simmons; his mother, Linda Helwig; brothers, Douglas G. (Kirsten), and Michael A. Simmons; his faithful snack buddy, Kramer; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, as well as his Marine Corps brothers.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212. A funeral service in celebration of Tom’s life will follow immediately at noon.
Thomas’ family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Crouse Hospital for the care they provided for him while he was there, and to the family and friends who were always checking in on him and extending their love and prayers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to the K9’s for Warriors Foundation, 114 Camp K9 Road Ponte Verda, FL 32081.
