Tommaso Malavenda's Obituary
Tommaso Malavenda, 92, of Liverpool passed away peacefully on Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by family. Tommaso was born in Italy where he worked as a Carabinieri (Policeman) in Turin, for ten years before immigrating to Syracuse in 1955. He worked as an industrial mechanic at Solvay Processing for over 30 years, was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, and a member of the Town of Salina Seniors.
Tommaso dedicated his life to his family. He loved tending to his garden, growing his own food, cooking, and singing.
Tommaso was predeceased by his wife, Antoinette; his parents, Antonino and Rosa; his brothers, Demetrio, Giovanni, and Domenico; and his sisters, Angela, Anna Maria, and Maria.
Tommaso is survived by his sons, Anthony and his wife, Martine Burat, and Michael and his Fiancé, Michelle Scofield, both of Syracuse; his brother Giuseppe, and his sister Italia, both of Reggio di Calabria; two granddaughters, Sarah and Emily, of Syracuse; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Tommaso’s life at 9:30 AM in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
