Tommie Weathersby Jr.'s Obituary
Tommie Weathersby, Jr.,74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at home in Syracuse, New York.
Tommie was born on December 15, 1951 in Prentiss, Jefferson Davis, Mississippi, to Tommie Weathersby, Sr. and Jessie Lee (Tyrone) Weathersby. Part of the Great Migration, they relocated to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1961 where he attended elementary, junior high, and high school. He graduated with a bachelor's in Business Management from Northern Arizona University. Tommie was a United States Navy Sailor, aboard the USS Guam LPHS. in the U.S. Navy he was a Data Processing Technician Petty Officer, and traveled the globe twice before settling in Syracuse, New York, He was baptized in 2018 at Christ Missionary Baptist Church.
Tommie was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched many lives. He is survived by his children, Kathryn Symone Weathersby, Michael Bradley, Brandy Angelica Messerti, Nora Maria Faison, Elizabeth Margaret Singh; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie Weathersby, Sr. and Jessie Lee (Tyrone) Weathersby; his brother, Carl Weathersby, and his beloved sister, Kathryn Weathersby Ray.
A prayer service with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Rd., Syracuse, NY.
