Tonia M. (Iaquinta) Tankersley's Obituary
Tonia M. (Iaquinta) Tankersley, 90, of North Syracuse, passed away December 13, 2023 at Loretto Nursing Home. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Anthony and Michalina (Rienzi) Iaquinta. Tonia worked as a teller for AmeriCu Credit Union. She was a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Church. Tonia enjoyed gardening and raising her 6 children.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by two daughters, Cynthia in 2022 and Katherine in 2007; her sisters, Helen Zottola, and Katherine Donatelli, both of Pittsburgh.
Tonia is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Charles Michael Tankersley; her children, Michael (Ann) Tankersley, David (Barbara) Tankersley, Susan (Chad) Hatcher and Nancy (Joseph) Callisto; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Jeffrey, Mary, Stephen, Thomas, Jessica and Daniel; five great-grandchildren, Jackson, Gram, Audrey, Matthew and Katherine, along with several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Tonia’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S. Main St. North Syracuse followed by burial in North Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church.
