Ursula "Roe" Campanello's Obituary
Ursula "Roe" (Campese) Campanello, 89, of Syracuse passed away Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Roe was a buyer with Flah's and also with the Addis Company and retired from the Metropolitan Commission on Aging. She enjoyed being with her friends in the "Sewing Club", playing cards, bingo and going to the casino. Roe was also very active in the Vinette Towers Community Organization. But most of all, she loved spending as much time as she could with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Campanello in 1988 and also by her sister, Mary Lou Campese-Mellnick. Roe is survived by her children, Thomas J. (Vicki) Campanello of North Syracuse, Marilyn Renne (Sue) of North Syracuse and John A. (Julie) Campanello of Syracuse; six grandchildren, Kim, Trista, Thomas, Jason, John and Justin; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Bishop Louis Campese of Florida; her step-sister, Elizabeth (Tish) DeSalvo of Syracuse and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a funeral mass will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
