Veronica A. (Tropea) DeRosa's Obituary
Veronica A. (Tropea) DeRosa, 95, of Liverpool, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego, NY. Born in Syracuse, NY Veronica worked part-time for the North Syracuse School System’s cafeteria and for Chappell’s Department store. She enjoyed reading and trips to the casino.
She was predeceased by her husband of 69, years, Anthony, her parents, Joseph and Rose (Orlando) Tropea, two brothers, Salvatore and Joseph Tropea, and a sister, Elizabeth (Tropea) Wituszynski.
Veronica is survived by her daughter, Anne (William) Belknap of Central Square; her son, Anthony (Caprece) DeRosa of Liverpool; five grandchildren, Jerry (Tina) Belknap, Joseph Belknap, Adrienne (Jimmy) McCraney, Alex (April) DeRosa, and Lacey Sagnella; seven great-grandchildren; Brother-in-law, John Maselli; brother-in-law, John Testone, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and several cousins, Barbara VanDitto, Marcia Ferrante and Mary Buttaro.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Luke’s in Oswego, especially her caregivers on A-Wing for their loving care and kindness to Veronica and to our family during this difficult time.
A private funeral mass, not open to the public, in celebration of Veronica’s life will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 9:30 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
