Victor A. Coogan's Obituary
Victor A. Coogan, 70, of East Syracuse, NY, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026 with his loving family by his side. He was born to the late William and Angie (Audi) Coogan.
Victor served in the United States Navy for 8 years. He was the owner of Certified Voice and Data, LLC and owner of Coogan Security. Victor studied at Purple Dragons under Greg Turney and was a bodyguard for 15 years. He was a long-time member of Our Lady of Pompei Church. Victor enjoyed socializing with music along with a Bacardi and coke. He loved his children and grandchildren immensely.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael Coogan.
Victor is survived by his loving spouse of 40 years, Maria (Damico) Coogan; his children, Michael Coogan, Joseph (Sabrina) Coogan and Tina (Joe) Shalack; his grandchildren, Emmalyn and Raquel Coogan, and Mason and Peyton Shalack; his brother- in-law, James Damico and his pets, Caesar, Coco and Chelsea.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, NY, immediately followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Victor’s life at 11:00 a.m. in the church. He will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Victor’s memory may be made the Syracuse VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Ave, Syracuse, NY 13210.
