Victor A. DiRenzo's Obituary
Victor A. DiRenzo, 87, passed away on Memorial Day, May 29, 2017 at Loretto Nursing Home. He was born in Syracuse, NY on March 27, 1930 and was a parishioner of St. Lucy’s Church. Victor was a lifelong resident of Syracuse with the exception of the time he proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a man of many talents. As a multiple business owner, Victor and his brothers owned and operated the Eagle Café, a liquor store and pizza parlor. Victor was best known for being an excellent barber in the Syracuse area for many years. He had a long list of dedicated clients and was very well liked by all of them.
Victor loved his family dearly and enjoyed Sunday dinners with family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all his family. “Papa”, the name his family affectionately called him, will be dearly missed.
He was predeceased by his parents, Donato and Camille (Santangelo) DiRenzo, along with eight brothers and sisters.
Victor is survived by his son, Donato (Jule) DiRenzo; his grandchildren, Julie (Keith) Trexler, Donato DiRenzo II and William DiRenzo; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Kylee; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a very special nephew and good “buddy” who was always there to help his Uncle Victor, Mario (Linda) DiRenzo.
A special thank you to the staff on the 8th floor of Loretto Cunningham Hall for their wonderful care and compassion during the last months of his life.
