Vincent Michael Bova's Obituary
Vincent Michael Bova, 89, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully Friday at the VA Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Vincent was a WWII Veteran, where he served as an MP in Germany where he was searching for Nazi’s to bring to the Nuremburg Trials.
Vincent spent his life giving back to the veterans. He belonged to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 30. He loved working every December on the 174th Airbase on the Christmas children’s toy giveaway with Walmart. He also enjoyed working on the summer cookouts at the VA and having clambakes to raise money for DAV Chapter 30. He was also involved politically with the Republican Party, donating his time as much as he could, and his activities with the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church.
Vincent loved his family and friends. He loved his Wednesday lunches with his nephew Ralph, his casino days with his daughter Patti and niece Patty. He looks so forward to his visits from his niece Phyllis and husband John, and dinner with them at Rico’s. Vincent also loved when his grandson Louis stopped by for dinner and also cooking his daughter Antoinette’s favorite foods and bringing it to her in Oneida.
Vince was so proud when his grandson Jeffrey and granddaughter Sarah asked him to read at their wedding. He also loved going to Linda & Mike’s for dinner and holidays and hanging out with Dan & Jeff watching football.
His special time was at his granddaughters Stephanie’s having cookouts, playing and teasing with his pride and joy granddaughter, Ava.
Vincent loved life, family, and cooking for all of them. He will be missed by all that were lucky to be touched by him.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marion (LaPointe) Bova in 2015; his parents, Philip and Antoinette (Cichello) Bova; his brothers, Ralph, Sam, Louis and sister Fanny.
Vincent is survived by his daughters, Antoinette and Patti Bova; his son, Philip (Chris) Bova; his daughter, Linda (Mike) Drazek; grandchildren, Louis DeLucas, Stephanie Richmond, Jeffrey (Sarah) Drazek, Dan Drazek, Carrie (Chris) Germain, Vincent and Philip Bova; 11 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
