Vincent F. Nicotra, Sr.'s Obituary
Vincent F. Nicotra, Sr., 93, of Syracuse, passed away February 14, 2026 at Upstate University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Memphis, NY, son of the late Salvatore and Angeline Nicotra. Vince graduated from North High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. Vince was formerly employed with Kemper Ins. Co. and was the owner and operator of S. Nicotra and Son, Inc. He was a devout catholic and longtime member of St. Daniel’s Church. He was also a member of the IAAC, Republican Committee Member, and avid NY Yankees fan.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Genevieve (Fortino) Nicotra in 2019 and two sisters, Grace Busco and Joanne Nicotra.
Vince is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Bill) Ryan; two sons, Vincent Nicotra, Jr. and Mark (Jennifer) Nicotra; seven grandchildren, Nicholas (Kayleigh), Meghan, Vincent, William (Tia), Lauren, Gia, and Dario; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Jr., Grace, Mason, Christopher and Genevieve; a sister, Monica Aker; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Vince’s life will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 9:30 AM in St. Daniel Church, 3004 Court St., Syracuse, NY. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY.
