Vincent "Jimmy" Santoro

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Vincent “Jimmy” Santoro, who left this world peacefully at the age of 82, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Catania, Sicily, Vince immigrated to the United States in 1951 at just seven years old, beginning a lifelong journey rooted in family and sacrifice. He made his home in New York, where he built an amazing life defined by hard work, deep love, and quiet strength. Vince was the beloved husband of Linda Santoro, his partner in life for over five decades — a wife who was devoted to him and never left his side. Together, they raised three cherished children: Vince, Paul, and Kristine Santoro, who along with their incredible partners will forever carry his legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion in their hearts. Vince was deeply proud of all of his children and sacrificed so much to take care of them. He not only supported them but actively shaped their lives—spending years coaching Little League baseball and basketball for his sons, dedicating himself to teaching them how to be great ballplayers—and even more importantly, good men. At the same time, he made sure his daughter was well taken care of as well — proudly ensuring she received the best college education. A lifelong New York Yankees fan, Vince loved the game—but nothing brought him more joy than watching his own kids play, grow, and thrive — or simply witnessing the light in his wife’s smile and the beautiful life they built side by side. Throughout his life, Vince worked tirelessly to support his family. He spent his career at R.E. Deitz, Reva Plastics, and later Chrysler, often working countless hours to ensure that his wife and children were well taken care of. His work ethic, selflessness, and determination were unmatched. Vince was the proud grandfather of four grandsons (Vinnie, Ethan, Henry, and Justin), whose presence lit up his life. He was a devoted brother to Joe Santoro, Mary Nicotra, Charlie Santoro (predeceased), a beloved brother-in-law to Diana Lynn, and caring uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His life was touched in his later years by his caregiver Jess and her grandchildren Caius and Addison, who became Dad’s tiniest nursing aides. Vince’s legacy lives on in the people who were lucky enough to know him. He was a man who gave without expecting in return—a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who would do anything for others. His generosity and the extraordinary sacrifices he made for others defined the life he lived. He will be missed beyond words—but remembered every day in the lives he touched. To pay tribute to Vince, calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 10am to 12pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Jimmy’s life at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY. A private burial with Military Honors will be at Pine Plains Cemetery in Clay.
