Vincent J. Scaravillo's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vincent J. Scaravillo, who departed this life on September 6, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 90 years old.
Vincent was a devoted and deeply religious family man, a loyal friend, and a source of strength and wisdom to all who knew him. Born in Syracuse, NY, to Carmela and Salvatore Scaravillo, he was profoundly shaped by their values and strong Sicilian traditions, especially the importance of family. These traditions were most evident during cherished gatherings, with the Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve holding a special place in his heart. Vincent led the Christmas carols with joy and enthusiasm, encouraging all to sing along.
Vincent began his career in the insurance industry and, in 1973, opened his own agency on Butternut Street. He built lasting relationships with his clients, always guided by honesty and trust—principles that defined both his personal and professional life.
In his free time, Vincent loved traveling with his wife of 40 years, Joyce Noble Scaravillo. Whether exploring Europe or China or escaping Syracuse winters for the warmth of sunny Florida, he embraced every adventure. He also officiated local high school basketball and soccer games, was a dedicated member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Pompeii, and a passionate supporter of Syracuse University football and basketball. Vince lived life fully and faithfully, always grounded in his values and love for his community.
He was predeceased by his parents, Carmela and Salvatore; his brother, Joseph; and his sister, Domenica Bandera.
Vincent is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Noble Scaravillo; sons: Vincent Scaravillo (Julie), Michael Scaravillo (Lori), Michael Noble (Michelle), and Mark Noble (Tracey); grandchildren: Vincent, Anthony, and Sophia Scaravillo; Erin, Erica, Margo, and Marissa Noble; and his great-granddaughter, Emilia Scaravillo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever cherish their “Uncle Jimmy”.
