Vincent J. "Jimmy" Stagnitta's Obituary
Vincent J. “Jimmy” Stagnitta, 97, of Syracuse, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at St. Camillus surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was born to the late Concetto and Sebastiana (Formica) Stagnitta. He worked at General Electric for 40 dedicated years as a wireman. Jimmy was proud to be a veteran serving his country in the Army during WWII. He enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips to Vegas as well as spending time in Florida during the winter. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Along with his parents, Jimmy is predeceased by his loving wife, Theresa (Destefano) Stagnitta and his 7 siblings.
Jimmy is survived by his 2 children, Donna (Ronald) Longo, of Westvale, and Jimmy (Sabrina) Stagnitta, of Camillus; grandchildren, Michael (Christine) Williams, Amanda Stagnitta (Michael Loiodice), and James Stagnitta, Jr.; 4 great-grandchildren, Melody and Mickey Williams, Riley Catanzarite, and Julia Theresa Loiodice; his brother, Anthony Stagnitta; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Noon at St. Charles/St. Ann’s Church 501 S. Orchard Rd. Syracuse, NY 13219. Family and friends may call from 8:45-10:45 AM on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. North Syracuse NY, 13212 (Corner of Buckley Rd.) Burial with military honors will follow at Onondaga Country Veteran’s Cemetery.
Jimmy’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at The Centers at St. Camillus for their compassion and care of Jimmy.
