Vinnie Catalano's Obituary
Vincenta "Vinnie" Catalano, 90, formerly of Tower Avenue, Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at home. She was born in Auburn, NY, the daughter of the late Louis and Louise Donofrio. Vinnie retired from General Electric after 35 years of service. She was a Royal Matron of Amaranth of Syracuse #35 and held many state offices. Vinnie also served in many organizations, Bethlehem Shrine #2, Bona-Fide-Hiawatha Solvay Chapter, #567, Order of the Eastern Star and St. Rose Happy Times Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Austin James Catalano in 1989; her twin sister, Rose Myers and brother-in-law, Ralph Myers; a brother, Michael Tartaglia and sister-in-law, Rey Tartaglia; a sister, Jean Oropallo and brother-in-law, Albert Oropallo. Vinnie is survived by her beloved only child, Ted Catalano, Sr. and daughter-in-law, Joni Catalano of California; granddaughter, Gina Catalano, her pride and joy; five grandsons, seven great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.
Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Monday from 11:00 am to Noon with a funeral service by Rev. John Ahern immediately following. Burial will be in Soule Cemetery, Auburn.
