Virginia (Fanizzi) Brigida's Obituary
Virginia (Fanizzi) Brigida, who celebrated her 90th birthday on August 3rd, passed away Saturday in her Liverpool home. She was born in Syracuse and was a homemaker all of her life who loved cooking and knitting for family and friends. Virginia was also an avid New York Yankee’s fan.
She was predeceased by her parents, Angelo and Laura (Blasi) Fanizzi, her husband, Michael Brigida and her brother, Samuel Fanizzi.
Virginia is survived by her son, Ralph A. (Marsha) Brigida of Florida and her daughter, Valerie (Bradley) Ozinsky of Liverpool; four grandchildren including twins, Michael V. (Mary) Brigida and Michele (Richard) Louise; Bryan (Staci) Yerton and Taylor Yerton; five great-grandchildren, Jessica, Sara, Michael, Micaela, and Nicholas; her daughter-in-law, Carol Brigida, and son-in-law, Greg Yerton, along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service in celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Entombment will follow in the family mausoleum at Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
