Virginia (Lostumbo) Dimico's Obituary
Virginia (Lostumbo) Dimico, 74, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of Salvatore and Thomassina Lostumbo. She was a graduate of North High School. Virginia was employed with New York Telephone and Merchants Bank. She volunteered at Lyncourt School for many years. Virginia loved gardening and was a great cook and baker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Dimico in 2008. Virginia is survived by her two daughters, MaryBeth Dimico of Syracuse and Lauri (Garry) Schneider of Syracuse; a son, David Dimico of Syracuse; four grandchildren, Samantha White, Kara Perno, Michael Perno and Matthew Dimico along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Virginia's family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the nursing staff, I-5 at St. Joseph's Hospital for their special care during her illness. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4:00 to 6:30 pm with a funeral service immediately following. A memorial mass and celebration of Virginia's life will be held at a later date to be announced. Contributions may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
