Virginia M. Tantillo's Obituary
Virginia (Maira) Tantillo, 92, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. She was born in Syracuse to the late Anthony and Vincenza Maira and worked for many dedicated years for New York Telephone as a phone operator. Virginia enjoyed musicals and her weekly shopping trips with her son, Anthony.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Thomas, Joseph, and Santo Maira.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Philip (Deborah), Anthony, and David (Nakato) Tantillo; her two grandchildren, Gina and Ciro Tantillo; along with her three nieces, Corrine, Ann Marie, and Patty Ann.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Van Duyn for their excellent care of Virginia.
A committal service will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, 800 Grant Blvd., Syracuse, NY on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 11:30 A.M. The family will greet visitors from 11:00 – 11:30 A.M.
