Vivian A. (Mariani) Tolone's Obituary
Vivian A. (Mariani) Tolone, 92, of North Syracuse, passed away February 7, 2021 at Loretto Health & Rehabilitation, just 57 days after her beloved husband, Joseph Tolone. They were married 73 years.
Vivian was the beloved daughter of deceased parents, Marie (Bova) and Orazio Mariani and sister of her predeceased brother, Melvin Mariani. She was born in Pittsburgh, where she lived among a loving extended family, until she married Joe at 19 years old and moved to Syracuse. She is survived by her three adoring daughters, Orrine (Walter) Kolodziey, JoAnn (David) Mondo, and Zoe (Steven) Sochor.
Vivian will always be the absolute best grandma to her surviving grandchildren, Jennifer (Jake) Hafner, Nichole Bucci, Stephen Kolodziey and Sophia Acosta, as well as great- grandchildren, Emilia and Jacob Hafner and Jesse Acosta. In addition to her loving husband, Vivian most certainly was reunited with her predeceased grandson, Zack Sochor. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Known for her lively personality and trademark red hair, Vivian was her husband’s spunky partner. She was fun, but also deeply caring with a generous soul. With only 57 days on earth separating them, Vivian and Joe are now resting in peace together, forever.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 11:30 am to 1 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Vivian’s life at 1 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. To attend her service remotely, please visit Vivian’s tribute page at tjpfuneralhome.com. Entombment will take place in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Onondaga, Fund Development, 1654 West Onondaga St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
