Wealthy A. Bucktooth's Obituary
Wealthy (La) Bucktooth, 59, of the Onondaga Nation Snipe passed away Saturday evening with her family by her bedside. Wealthy and her family are descendants of the Seneca Chief Cornplanter of Pennsylvania. She graduated from LaFayette High school and attended Haskell Indian college in Lawrence, Kansas. Wealthy then returned home and joined the NYS Six Nations Agriculture Society for over 30 years; many of those years she spent as vice president of the Allegany booth in the Indian Village. The casino business eventually started in NY and Wealthy worked for 20 years until Allegany casino opened where she worked as floor supervisor and pit manager for many years.
She was born to the late Robert and Donna Bucktooth and predeceased by her grandson, Uriah Stallman.
Wealthy is survived by her daughter, Holly and grandson Lane Miller of the Onondaga Nation; her sisters, Ruth (Mark) French, Robin (Pete) Wanatee, and Martha Jimerson, all of Allegany territory and Roberta (Dave) Rockwell of the Onondaga Nation; her brothers, Robert Jr. (Cheryl) of Tulsa OK, Bruce of Moravia, NY, and Rob and Jarvis Bucktooth both of Onondaga Nation; her grandchildren, Jewell, Zayden, Zayda, Woody, and Annamae.
Funeral services are private, the family requests that friends sign the guest book page and leave a message if you wish.
