William L. "Bill" Bartlett's Obituary
William L. “Bill” Bartlett, 73, of West Monroe, NY, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Loretto Nursing Home. He was born in Albany, NY, son of the late Frank and Alice (Carey) Bartlett. Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1966, and was stationed in Norfolk, VA on the USS Boxer for 1 year, finishing his service in Jacksonville, FL. He was employed as Assistant Vice President for Bank of New York, retiring in 1992, after retirement he went on to work as a Courier for Lab Alliance. Bill enjoyed softball, bowling, and golf. He especially loved spending time with his family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bill will be remembered as a soft spoken, low key man, with a great sense of humor, and a positive outlook on life.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Margaret O’Connor.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol P. (Rodgers) Bartlett; his daughter, Kimberly (Martin) Forman of N. Syracuse; his son, Evan W. (Kelli Hawk) Bartlett of Manlius; four grandchildren, Rebecca Forman, Chelsie and Spencer Bartlett, and April Trevett; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Lili Trevett; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 4 – 6:30 pm, immediately followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Bill’s life, with Navy Military Honors at 7 pm in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
