Working with Bill in the 80's at WHEN Radio was wonderful. There was never a day without a laugh, never a day I didn't admire his brilliance in what he did best.
I will miss seeing him at the local grocery store over the years and again always made me smile.

I met Bill and his family through my Uncle Randy and his family. The Snee's became friends while my aunt and uncle after my cousin, Cheryl, became friends with Bill's daughter. I knew Bill as an acquaintance to play cards with and admired him as a significant local journalist.
To the family, friends and co-workers of Bill Carey, I am so sorry for your loss. I am just a viewer and only knew of him as a reporter at TWC News the past few years , but there was something about hearing him talk. No matter how urgent, tragic or happy the story, he always had that calm, cool, collected voice and used precise words. Even if I didn't know what the news report was going to be, if I heard he was reporting or heard his voice, I would always go to the TV to listen and inevitably learn something. I will miss his reporting. Please know that there is now a glorious person in Heaven watching over all those he loved and who loved him. God Bless you and keep you all.

Bill Carey was a professional and a gentleman. For many years I have admired and respected him and his work. Although I did not know him personally, I feel as if I have lost a friend. He will be greatly missed. Audrey Wolniak, a viewer.

As a casual acquaintance for the past forty years, starting as a young police officer in Syracuse when Bill was also a rookie, up until just recently when he covered the announcement of funding for Owasco Lake I have always admired Bill's steady and consistent manner. He was a gentleman, a professional. He often talked with supporters in the group before those delivering the item and developed a true perspective on the matters of interest.
