William "Bill" Hotchkiss Schumaker's Obituary
William “Bill” Hotchkiss Schumaker , 74, of Pennellville, NY passed away on October 21, 2017 with family at his side.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Schumaker; two daughters, Patience Palmer (Ricky) and Jenny Lee Ragan (R. Matthew); his grandchild, Brooke Landers; siblings, Rita and Robert, and mother-in-law, Minnie Robinson. He was predeceased by his brother Fred.
Born June 19, 1943, he was the son of the late William H. and Theresa Schumaker. Bill was born in Florida and grew up in Maryland as the oldest brother to three siblings. He served in the United States Army. After his service he relocated to Syracuse, NY and was introduced to Sharon and they married in 1973. Together they moved to Pennellville, where they built their family home and raised their two children.
During his career Bill worked at Rollway Bearing and Auto gear. He served as Chairman and Treasurer while he was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
Bill treasured time with his family. He was thrilled to recently attend both of his daughters’ weddings. He loved spending time walking through the park with his wife and German Shepherd, Ranger. He enjoyed attending classic car shows throughout the summer months to show off their black and chrome, 58 Super 88. He also appreciated time in the garden and mowing the lawn to beautify their home. Bill was an avid baker and made amazing cinnamon buns, which his family loved to enjoy.
