William Carl "Billy" Kaljeskie's Obituary
William Carl “Billy” Kaljeskie, 89, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on May 26, 2024. Born in Liverpool, NY to the late Carl and Bertha (Lietz) Kaljeskie, Billy enlisted in the US Navy after high school. After his honorable discharge from the navy, William became a Teamster Union Truck Driver for Netti Wholesale Market and P&C Foods for many dedicated years. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and enjoyed woodworking, staining glass, gardening, and he was a published artist, but most of all, he enjoyed his family and being with them any chance he could.
William was predeceased by his siblings, Albert Terry, Robert Kaljeskie, and Patricia Fregue.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Josephine (Micale) Kaljeskie; children, Tamara (Chris) Maloney, and William P. (Maureen) Kaljeskie; grandchildren, Christopher (Samantha) Maloney, Jr., William B., and Wyatt C. Kaljeskie; a great-grandson, Christopher Maloney III; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Crouse Hospital 4 North, especially Kaitlyn and Roseann for their love and care for William.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of William’s life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11:30 A.M. in St. Rose of Lima Church 409 S. Main St., North Syracuse. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
