William P. Lischak's Obituary
William P. Lischak, 95, of Syracuse passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse to the late Nicholas and Anna (Scheftic) Lischak. William was employed as a salesman for Millbrook Bread for over 30 years and brought joy to everyone he encountered. William was an avid go-karting enthusiast and enjoyed Formula 1 and other forms of auto racing. He also enjoyed watching SU Basketball.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Dorothy, in 1992 and his siblings, Pauline, Walt, Jeanette, and Helena Fern.
William is survived by his children, William J., Maria, Thomas (Diane), and Anthony Lischak; grandchildren, Lara Beerman, Alex (Rachael) Lischak, and Aristina (Matt) Wagner; 4 great-grandsons, Morgan, Ryan, William, and Sebastian; sisters, Florence Larson, Pearl Card, and Annette Deon; his companion, Margie Baumgartner; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, and 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Most Holy Rosary, 111 Roberts Ave. Syracuse, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. 13212.
