Yolanda R. (Salvagno) Herbert's Obituary
Yolanda R. (Salvagno) Herbert, 89, of Lakeland, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 6, 2023. She was born in Solvay to the late Lodovicho Salvagno and Caroline DeMarchi Zimmerman. Yolanda worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield for many years. Her passions included reading, dancing, entertaining, cooking and baking. As a nurturing, giving caretaker, Yolanda volunteered at Our Lady of Peace Church, where she served as a communicant, Eucharistic minister, and religious education teacher. She was an avid walker, foster parent, and volunteer at St. Camillus. She was the beloved and loving wife of Steven Herbert and was known for her vibrant personality and generous soul.
In addition to her parents, Yolanda is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Steven, her sister, Marion Miller, and her brother, Lodovicho Salvagno.
She is survived by five daughters, Stefanie (Scott) Bell of VA, Renee (Patrick) McFalls of Pennellville, Michele (John) Marzocchi of Baldwinsville, Janine (Glenn) Baumgras of Rochester, and Andrea Gerhardt of Rochester; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Carol Reppi of Liverpool; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private service for immediate family will be held.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Dementia Society of America.
