Zdenka R. “Denny” Schindler, of Liverpool, passed away May 12, 2023 at the age of 92.
Denny was born January 2, 1931 in Prague, Czech Republic. She lived a full life full of adventure and tribulations. She left her country at the age of 17 during the war and immigrated to Sydney, Australia and lived in Adelaide. After living in Australia for some years, she immigrated to the United States and settled in Syracuse, NY in 1956 to start a family with her husband. Denny had a busy life raising her three children as a single mom, working hard, and enjoying time with her friends. She loved to travel and had been to many countries including South Africa, and many European countries. She enjoyed visiting relatives in Palm Springs, CA and Atlanta, GA, and friends in Florida. She was a hard worker and never missed a day of work. She was employed by Allis-Chalmers for many years, and then Walmart where she retired at the age of 81. Denny often talked about how she loved her customers, and how they loved her. She was very active and extremely independent up until the last days of her life. She was a very strong woman who preferred to do everything for herself, and she did. In her later years, she enjoyed taking care of her flowers and plants, doing crossword puzzles, shopping, going to her gym, and taking walks to keep in shape.
