Alan H. Shively's Obituary
Alan H. Shively, 86, of Pennellville, NY, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2022. He was born in Waynesboro, PA, son of the late Charles and Violet Shively. Alan received his master’s degree from Syracuse University and went on to work as a business teacher in the Phoenix Central School District for 30 dedicated years. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved hunting; he also enjoyed fishing, boating, and snowmobiling.
In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his wife, Donna Shively in January 2022.
Alan is survived by his children: Christine (Trace) Chandler, John Shively, Jaime (Harris) Kuhr, Pamela (Lewis) Palomeque and Jeffrey (Judy) Runfola; 13 grandchildren: John, Nadja, Savannah, Jackson, Amanda, Leslie, Matthew, Lewis, Ryan, Nicole, Sarah, Renee, and Tyler; and his brother, Donald Shively.
Alan’s family would like to express special thanks to Anita, Samantha, Deb, Leatha, and Serena who provided loving care and made it possible for Dad to stay at home during his last years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, from 9:00 – 10:00 am, immediately followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Alan’s life at 10 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. To attend the service remotely, please visit Alan’s tribute page at tjpfuneralhome.com on Saturday at 10 am. He will be laid to rest in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.
