I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to tell you how wonderful I thought your husband, brother and son Andy was. Andy was my and my families Pharmacist at CVS. In my mind he had really big shoes to fill when the previous Pharmacist had left, and boy did he fill them. It only took a few meetings with Andy to realize what a special man he was. He was so personable, knowledgeable but most of all caring and empathetic. He was so proud to show me the pictures of his wedding and his beautiful wife Keisha, and how they couldn't wait to start a family of their own. He spoke of his parents and brother and crazy days with his friends, which I could relate to. When Andy became sick and returned after his first major treatment, he was so open about what he went through and still with a smile on his face, which is something I don't think I could have done. When I introduced him to my mom who was visiting, he said," Laura and I are buddies." It was such a great compliment that he thought that highly of me, as friends mean everything to me. I had not been to Target in awhile, but knew Andy had a setback. In my mind I never was afraid for him, because he was so young, vibrant and in love that nothing could touch him. Clearly I was in denial. I had no idea it had gotten that far until yesterday when I walked to the pharmacy and saw his picture with the words In Loving Memory. My heart instantly broke and I was in tears. How could someone who I occasionally saw maybe once or twice a month effect me so much? Mr. and Mrs. Cowan, you raised such a beautiful boy, into an incredible man. I know I am not telling you anything that you already didn't know, but I just wanted to let you know how he touched my heart and how truly sorry I am for yours and Keisha's family. God Bless you all.
