Anthony DelVecchio's Obituary
Anthony DelVecchio, 81, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Pignataro Maggiore, Italy and moved to Syracuse in 1955. Anthony was formerly employed with Ralph Palmisano Movers, Carruthers Movers and Lincoln Moving Company, retiring in 1995. Beloved Husband, Dad and "Nonno", he loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening with his wife. He was predeceased by his parents, Pasqualino and Margherita (Palmisano) DelVecchio, son-in-law, Jonathan Matthews and brother-in-law, Dominick Francischelli. Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Maddalena (Romano) Del Vecchio; three children, Margaret (Egerio Callisto) DelVecchio of Liverpool, Clara Matthews of Baldwinsville and Pat (Debbie) DelVecchio of Baldwinsville; seven grandchildren, Antonio and Marina Callisto, Melissa and John Matthews, Jacob, Anthony and Amanda DelVecchio; brother, Giorgio (Anna) DelVecchio of Syracuse; sister, Carmelina Francischelli of CT along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Anthony's family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Dr. Jennifer McCaul and the nursing staff, 2-8 at St. Joseph's Hospital for their special care. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am in St. John the Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
