Antonio D. “Tony” Callipari, 89, of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Antonio was born to the late Bruno and Olivia Callipari and later emigrated from Locri, Italy in Read Obituary
Mr. Callipari is the father of my Best Friend on this Earth so I have many memories of him. He was a good husband and father throughout the 40 plus years that I have know his son, Tony! He will be truly missed.
I have known him since I was in 2nd grade with his son. He also worked with my father, Dominick S. Melice at General Motors. He was a Wonderful Italian gentleman who put God, Father and Country first in his life. Used to sometimes visit him on his screened in porch on the north side of the city where his wife still lives. He was always playing cards and shooting the breeze.
I was there at the end when he was dying too...Rest in peace, Mr. Callipari and much love and prayers to the whole family!

It's your best friend Michael A Melice....just wanted to let you know on the anniversary of your Dad being gone that I am so sorry for your loss!
Mr. Callipari was a good man, a good husband and a good father. My favorite times with him was sitting playing cards on your front porch...the porch we had shared many good times since we were both 8 years old my friend!
He will be forever missed! God bless you all during this week of having lost him! He lived a long life and left behind a wonderful family!

My sincerest condolences to the Callipari family. Your father was a good and genuine man. I enjoyed the conversation we had whenever he came over to visit Bruno, and I happened to be around. He was a down to earth person who you could relate too. I'm sorry that I could not attend, and offer you my sincere regrets in person.
