Art – a husband, father, grandfather, and friend but to my dad it was his best friend. Art was always there to share a story, give advice, lend a hand to wire a light, frame in a door, paint a wall or for me help build student mailboxes and install basement doors. My dad and Art worked side by side – Art the perfectionist but my dad not so much. They always got the job done with the help of my mom and Kathy often overseeing them prepared with wine in hand. My dad rarely went to Home Depot or Lowes alone. If he didn’t have the right tool or screws Artie did. Aside of the projects some of the greatest memories they have are living across the street from each other (that says it all) and the many trips they went on together; whether it was a bus trip, car trip or cruise there was always laughs to share (we refer to them as “making memories”). The trip to Italy was the grand finale. The days that lead up to their departure mark’s the greatest memory of all – the anticipation and excitement of 10 years planning to reality left them boarding an airplane with sincere happiness. Now that Artie is an angel in heaven we know he’s looking down on us. He will be here in spirit - after all we are never alone because the loved ones we lose are forever in our hearts. With sincere sympathy.
