Assunta (Collacchi) Marino's Obituary
Assunta (Collacchi) Marino, 73, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Segni, Italy and came to the United States at age 14. Assunta retired from Learburys after 20 years of service.
Assunta was known for her love of cooking and teaching her daughters-in-law the Italian traditions. She loved having a big crowd to feed. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Assunta was a strong woman with a heart of gold.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Salvatore Marino; her son, Roberto Marino; her sister, Pietrina Collacchi, and parents, Luciano and Olivia Teresa (Gagliarducci) Collacchi.
Assunta is survived by her sons, Salvatore (Kym) Marino of Baldwinsville, and Roberto (Tracy) Marino of North Syracuse; her cherished grandchildren, Emma and Nicholas Marino; brothers, Augusto (Norma) Collacchi, and Mario (Nancy) Collacchi; sister, Vincenza (Bob) Powlick; along with many sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 AM on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Assunta’s life at 9:00 AM in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
