Beverly Jane (Martin) Galtieri's Obituary
Beverly Jane (Martin) Galtieri, 78, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully Tuesday at home with her family by her side. She was born in Syracuse, NY and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Albany, NY. She later went on to attend Le Moyne College, and retired from Niagara Mohawk, after 25 years.
Beverly had a passion for music; she wrote and recorded many songs over the years. She was a communicant of The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Beverly and her husband Pasquale formed the Syracuse chapter of the International La Pieta Prayer group, as well as the Mother of Joy House of Prayer, and have been coordinator of both for the last 28 years. She also donated much of her time helping charitable organizations.
Beverly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all.
She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Mary Viola (Secreti) Martin; brothers, Arthur and Richard Martin, and her sister, Shirley Hamlin.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 53 years, Pasquale “Pat” Galtieri; daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Fess of Fayetteville; Kelly (Anthony) Schaut of Camillus, and her son, Peter (Cheryl) Galtieri of Syracuse; 11 grandchildren, Matisyn, Morgan, Brittney, Lauren, Alexandra, Adrianna, Amanda, Nathan, Niles, Naomi and Natalie; several great-grandchildren, and many nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 AM on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Beverly’s life at 9:30 at The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Syracuse. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday April 9, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
