We fondly called my Uncle Bruce, "UB" and I can honestly say that he was one of the most enjoyable people I can remember from my childhood. He always made us laugh with his quick wit and sense of humor. He made every family function so much fun. I remember the many gymnastics competitions he and Aunt Renee came to watch me at when I was young, and all the games and events they drove hours for, to support my kids. I will be forever grateful for this support and genuine interest he and Aunt Renee always showed in our lives. It's never difficult to recall UB with a smile on his face. He brought so much joy to our lives. I'm so grateful to have been touched by such a wonderful man. Love, Kelly Wain
As a Polaris library customer, I worked with Bruce on and off over the past 10+ years. He was a person of immense intelligence and humor. He really did put up with a lot from this "young buck" of a customer who always seemed to be causing trouble. He was caring and humorous but NOT a pushover. I still recall and use a phrase that he taught me. "We're doing everything we can to make sure we don't trip over the same rock twice!" it is a salient truth in the IT world that I've looked back on and used in coaching my staff over the years. I'll hold onto that even more dearly knowing that he's no longer with us. To his family, thanks for sharing Bruce with the library world, he legacy and impact will continue to live on in this community.
