Carmella (Musaio) Mayer's Obituary
Carmella (Musaio) Mayer, 79, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Francis House after a long battle with COPD. She was born in Syracuse, and was the last surviving child of Louis and Josephine (Monzi) Musaio family. Carmella was a graduate of North High School. She retired from CNA Insurance as a supervisor after many years of service. Carmella was a communicant at Our Lady of Pompei Church, and was a treasurer and member of its St. Theresa Society. She was an active bowler, enjoyed golfing, achieving a hole-in-one, was a fantastic dancer, and loved spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Morelli and her brother, Paul Musaio.
Carmella is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul Mayer; her daughter, Sandra Hunt; three grandchildren, Kevin (Laura), Stephanie, and Daniel Hunt; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 9:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Carmella’s life at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
