Carmelo Cicala's Obituary
Carmelo Cicala, 89, of Baldwinsville, passed away on Friday at Upstate University Hospital. He was born in Sicily, son of the late Angelo and Maria (Rigano) Cicala. Carmelo was a proud custodian with the Liverpool Central School District for more than 25 years, retiring in 1995. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompei / St. Peter’s Church in Syracuse. Carmelo enjoyed gardening, shopping, and spending time with his granddaughters. He traveled to Italy several times to visit family over the years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Olga (LoRe) Cicala; daughter, Anna (Anthony) Cordaro; granddaughters, Olivia and Natalie Cordaro; brother, Guiseppe Cicala of Milan, Italy; several nieces and nephews; his grand dogs, Sophie and Jax.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Pompei / St. Peter’s Church, 301 Ash. St. in Syracuse. Private entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
