Charles F. Gates III's Obituary
Charles F. Gates III, 69, of North Syracuse, passed away on Thursday at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of Charles F. Gates, Jr. and Marion (Fodora) Gates. Charlie retired after many dedicated years of service from Miller Brewing, and later from New Process Gear. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed boating with his grandsons, Anthony and Chris.
He was predeceased by his father, Charles F. Gates, Jr., and his sister, Vivian Russo.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Marianne T. (Nuzzo) Gates; his daughters; Gina of Cazenovia, Audrey of Michigan, and son, Bill of Colorado; his mother, Marion Gates, and his beloved grandchildren, Anthony, Chris, D.J., Devon, and Dayne.
Charlie was well loved, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will be watching down from above in June, as his grandson, Anthony graduates.
Calling hours will be held from 3:30 - 6:00 PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Charlie’s life at 6:00 PM.
