Claire (Clare) Strouth's Obituary
Claire (Clare) Strouth, 90, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2019 at Loretto Cunningham Nursing Home.
Clare was born on February 9, 1929, in Drogheda, Ireland to Francis, Sr. and Elizabeth (Barton) Clare. Soon after relocating to Canada, in 1956, she married her loving husband, James Strouth.
Claire was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She always treasured opportunities to cook a big meal and spend time with her family. Claire also had a passion for sewing, gardening and loved planting flowers, no matter how small the yard. She was known for her adorable Irish accent, hospitable spirit, and spunky personality.
Besides her parents, Claire was also predeceased by her husband James in 2014; two sisters, Mary and Etna; a brother, Francis, Jr.
Claire is survived by her four sons, Paul, James (Elizabeth), Robert (Desiree), and John; a daughter, Elizabeth Strouth; nine grandchildren; two sisters; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be private.
